They are the perfect greeting card for the Lady or Laird of Dunans Castle, and include the Dunans Castle insignia on the back. We have left the inside blank so that you can leave your own message.

As a Laird or Lady you might want to sponsor the planting of more than one tree. We now offer the planting of native trees such as Rowan, Ash, Birch, Beech, Alder and Whitebeam at £20 per tree with a minimum sponsorship of 5 trees. Your trees will be labelled, and if you sponsor 20 trees or more we will place a brass plaque with your name at the site of the planting.

We have had several requests to sponsor larger, more exotic trees within the designed landscape of Dunans. We have a rolling replacement programme in which we plan how we will continue the collection of gorgeous signal trees in the grounds. Lairds and Ladies can sponsor individual trees for £250, which includes a brass plaque with their name and the date upon it. At the moment we have four trees we are aiming to plant this year, probably in the autumn: a Monkey Puzzle (or Chilean Pine), a Walnut Tree, a Copper Beech and an English Oak.

The Lairds’ Bench is built from sustainable hardwood, it seats 3–4 and has a plaque with your message on it. We place the bench permanently in the grounds at Dunans.

This is a surcharge to cover the generation of the electric version of your deed of entitlement and associated papers. If you require this service, you must pay for this as well as your title. We will send out the hardcopy of your deeds etc. at the first available opportunity. These deeds will print on any injet or laser black and white printer.

The souvenir presentation folder is a beautiful way of presenting Lairds’ and Ladies’ documents. We have decided to offer Lairds and Ladies the opportunity to purchase these folders as they become available. Over time we will be altering them as work at the castle continues, creating a valuable and very beautiful archive of the project to which you are contributing.

This fabulous image was taken in February 2013 by Jean Donaldson. It shows in magnificent detail both the challenge which ScottishLaird.com is answering, and also the workmanship which went into building the castle in 1864. It also shows in the foreground how the Virginia creeper is climbing the exterior walls.

Every January we get deep frosts and bright, bright sunshine, and here through Jean Donaldson’s lovely photograph we see the bracken backlit in a vibrant and beautiful image.

Dunans Rising (tartan no. 10821) takes its inspiration from several sources: the colours and textures of the castle and castle policies, and in particular the exotic rhododendrons and splendid trees which surround this glorious B-listed structure; the light, love and laughter of the family who live on site, beside the castle; the building’s history and heritage; the community that lives in the glens and hills around Dunans; and lastly, and especially, our lairds and ladies – the community of interest from all over the world who visit the castle and its grounds on a regular and ongoing basis, whether in person, or virtually.

Woven exclusively by Bute Fabrics for Dunans Castle Limited, the Dunans Rising tartan has been registered with the Scottish Register of Tartans and is sold only on this website.

Dunans Rising is a 13oz tartan in a pure wool yarn, and is priced per metre. The tartan is specifically woven for kilt making and therefore has a double width of 156cms.

For those buying to make a kilt, a full 8 yard kilt will require 7.5m of fabric, and a “sports kilt” 5 yards, or 4.7 metres. Please choose the relevant option below, and then the number of kilts you’re want fabric for in the Quantity field.

Please note: we will shortly be bring out our own kilt made for us in Argyll.

We have limited stock, but we will take orders for cloth once the present rolls are finished. We estimate delivery on in-stock cloth will take between 14-21 days for delivery.  Out-of-stock orders will take a maximum of two months to deliver, but we expect to halve that time.
